Networks developed within the region
The development and regional positioning approach adopted by Djibouti Telecom has allowed, over the years, the national operator to be connected to the Horn Africa to the following international networks:
Networks to Somalia (Northern Somalia)
During the second quarter of 2006, Djibouti Telecom SA initiated interconnection projects with operators in Northern Somalia. Today, 4 different microwave networks are in service with 2 operators namely Telesom, Somtel.
Networks to Ethiopia
In August 2007, Djibouti Telecom SA initiated a project to build a terrestrial fiber optic linking Djibouti to Ethiopia. The existing radio-relay network was insufficient to carry all traffic from or to Ethiopia.
