Republic of Djibouti
The Republic of Djibouti is located in the Horn of Africa, midway between the equator and the Tropic of Cancer, at the entrance to the Red Sea, in the Bab El-Mandeb Strait. It is one of the smallest countries in Africa with a total area of 23,200 km2. To the east, it is largely open to the Gulf of Aden with a coastline of 372 km and to the west, north-west and south, it shares 500 km border with Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia. Its geographical position, at the crossroads between Africa, the West, the Far East and the Arab World, offers it a privileged maritime and geostrategic position with economic consequences but also a certain socio-cultural influence. Moreover, Djibouti enjoys political stability and its telecommunication system is exemplary. The modernity and the quality of the telecommunication equipment that the Republic of Djibouti has acquired, give it the status of hub of the region in the field of telecommunications.
