Aden-Djibouti
The Aden-Djibouti Regional subsea cable
Since 1997, Djibouti and Yemen are connected by a submarine cable of the 2nd generation with a length of 269 Km. In addition to the bilateral traffic between the two countries, this cable carries some circuits in transit to South Asia and Europe. Djibouti Telecom SA and TeleYemen being the two largest investors in this cable, Djibouti Telecom SA proposed an upgrade which permitted capacity substantially increased in terms of Wavelength to 80Gb/s and upgradable 100Gbps technology.
