[Djibouti City, 8th December 2023] – Djibouti Telecom recently played host to a distinguished delegation from Mozambique for a collaborative working meeting at the Kempinski Hotel from December 5 to 7, 2023. The gathering aimed to facilitate an exchange of experiences and expertise within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
Key figures in attendance included His Excellency Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon, the Minister of Communication in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, and His Excellency Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, the Minister of Economy & Finances, in charge of Industry. The delegation also met with Mr. Ahmed Youssouf Elmi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Abdallah Ibrahim Omar, Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, Mr. Mohamed Assoweh Bouh, Director General of Djibouti Telecom, Mr. Feysal Khaireh, Director of ICTs, Mr. Erminio Jasse, Director General of the National Institute of Electronics of Mozambique, and various other esteemed guests.
The Director of International Business, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, and his team showcased the comprehensive assets of Djibouti Telecom, providing insights into both existing and upcoming submarine cable projects. The presentation encompassed the organization’s commitment to technological innovation and advancements in the ICT sector.
The primary objective of this strategic meeting was to foster knowledge exchange, evaluate progress, address challenges, and set forth ambitious objectives for future collaboration. Djibouti Telecom, drawing on its extensive experience in subsea cable management, actively promoted the expansion of the DARE-1 submarine cable to Mozambique, underlining its commitment to international collaboration and the promotion of ICT innovation.
