Today, Friday 6th March 2020, marks the landing of the DARE1 cable at it’s final stop – the great Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa. Our team headed by Mohamed Ahmed (International Business Director) flew to Mombasa to take part in the ceremonial event hosted by our partners Telkom Kenya.

The event was thoroughly enjoyable with a great atmosphere in glorious weather! We thank Telkom Kenya for hosting us and putting together a good event.

When completed, the DARE1 network will land across 3 countries and 4 cities, covering 5,000km and will have a capacity per wavelength of 100Gbps. This project will bring much needed fibre optic to the region. We reported a couple weeks ago about the landing in Mogadishu and Bossaso and this was the last leg at Mombasa, Kenya.
We are very much pleased with the efforts of all the teams and are are on schedule for the network to be fully operational by June 2020. Keep up to date with developments via our blog and social media channels!
