AAE-1
In 2014, Djibouti Telecom joined the Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) consortium to build what was, at that time, the largest submarine cable constructed. Spanning 25,000km, AAE-1 links South East Asia to Europe via Egypt.
This cutting-edge cable system utilizes 100Gbps transmission technology, boasting a design capacity of 40 Tbps and terminating at major carrier-neutral PoPs in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Marseille.
In service since June 2017, AAE-1 also extends further into Asia through terrestrial routes across Thailand.
