2Africa
The 2Africa submarine cable system, one of the most ambitious and expansive in the world, is designed to significantly enhance connectivity between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Spanning over 45,000 kilometers, 2Africa is set to connect 46 landing stations across 33 countries, making it the largest subsea cable project in history.
Djibouti is proud to be the first African landing point for 2Africa, a critical step in reinforcing its role as a regional telecom hub. Watch the 2Africa Cable video.
Why Was 2Africa Created?
The 2Africa submarine cable system was developed to meet the increasing need for reliable, high-speed internet across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Here are the four key reasons for its creation:

Connecting Africa
The first subsea cable to link East and West Africa, connecting 33 countries across three continents.

Enhancing Digital Inclusion
2Africa aims to bridge the digital divide by providing more people and communities with access to the global digital economy.

Supporting Economic Growth
With faster, more reliable internet, 2Africa will help businesses grow and consumers access more digital services.

Addressing Connectivity Challenges
Designed to improve Africa’s internet infrastructure and help meet regional development goals.
