Sponsoring Forum Africain Des Ports

Earlier this week, we were pleased to attend and participate in the Forum Africain Des Ports event which we were Gold Sponsors. The event was held at the prestigious Djibouti Kempinski palace and with very little in terms of physical events in the current global climate, we were very pleased to participate. The event was a hybrid event with physical attendees capped at 200 (rigorously abiding by WHO Covid-19 guidelines) and hundreds more participating online.

The event was an opportunity to discover the development potential of port and maritime activities, the structuring projects to come or in progress and interact with leading industry experts. Djibouti is the maritime gateway to East Africa and at the intersection of where ‘East meets West‘ so it was appropriate for the high level representation from Djibouti’s six ports.

One of the most important takeaways from the event was the “Digitization of Djibouti ports “. Djibouti Telecom is therefore well placed in contributing to the achievement of this mission, as we have relevant technological capabilities and can offer connectivity worldwide through our DATA/IP capacity with a large network. Connectivity is obvious pivotal to digitization of ports and we are committed to working with our Djibouti Port partners on this transformative process.

This will no doubt not be the last Africain Des Ports event we sponsor/attend and are looking forward to a productive collaboration. As the slide below shows, there is unlimited growth potential in the most exciting continent in the world!
